2013 ALK Transportation Technology Summit Highlights

Happy Holidays From ALK!
Being in the transportation and technology industry, we couldn’t help but wonder how Santa could use our navigation solutions to get from the North Pole to our headquarters here in Princeton, NJ. Did you know that if Santa and his elves used a truck instead of his flying sled, it would take him nearly 68 hours to drive the 4,232 miles from the North Pole (Alaska, that is) to ALK Headquarters? The trip would cost him $94.38 in tolls even using his EZ-Pass discounts! Check out the driving directions powered by PC*MILER here.
Happy Thanksgiving from ALK!
Thanksgiving has arrived and here at ALK we have much to be thankful for. Our talented team has been working very hard on our products and this year, we’ve successfully launched new versions of our truck routing software PC*MILER as well as our new customized mapping platform, ALK Maps; additionally, our free app, CoPilot GPS, was downloaded over 2 million times.
Our employees also collected enough food to fill six Thanksgiving baskets for the charitable organization, HomeFront. This year, HomeFront plans to help over 2,000 families celebrate Thanksgiving, including those impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

CoPilot Live: Drive for a Cause – Help Us Support Breast Cancer Awareness!
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and as an organization we wanted to help support this extremely important cause. Breast Cancer can affect women of all ages and tragically it’s often detected too late to be treated effectively.
We asked our designers to create a new custom pink Theme for CoPilot, in which all proceeds from the purchase of the theme would be donated to support Breast Cancer Awareness. We’ve partnered with a wonderful organization, the National Breast Cancer Coalition(NBCC) and will be donating 100% of the proceeds from our Breast Cancer Awareness Theme to help the NBCC reach their goal of ending breast cancer by the year 2012.

New London Games features for CoPilot Live Premium
Navigate easier around London this summer with Games Venues Points Of Interest and on-screen warnings if
your route includes part of the Olympic Route Network (ORN)!
To help drivers to avoid anticipated congestion in central London caused by the planned temporary road restrictions during July and August 2012, CoPilot Live Premium sat nav apps for iPhone, iPad and Android mobile devices now include specific Games features.
The Games features within CoPilot Live Premium will alert drivers if their route includes restricted roads within the ORN, and will also highlight key games venues and Points of Interest (POIs).
